The Story of Lewis Bakeries
In 1925 the three Lewis brothers, Amos, Armold and Jack, mortgaged their mother's house for $300 and opened a bakery in a cabin in southern Illinois.
In the earliest days bread was baked by only the three brothers, who delivered it daily to individual homes nearby. They took some of each day's proceeds to purchase flour for the next day's bread.
Today, the Lewis family of bakeries provides fresh bakery products throughout the Midwest and frozen bakery products nationwide.
Lewis is a company with traditional family values, devoted to a two-fold aim: responding to consumers' needs and producing the finest quality baked goods. We take pride in the superior quality of all our baked goods. This is our only business and your satisfaction is our most important priority.
